4. Tapestries come to life! Elaine's hobby causes problems. Arthur's gift "bring peace to his reign" the magic in the tapestry takes this to mean that anyone who disagrees with Arthur must die! Only one safe is Leon!!! Gwaine banging Elaine's lady in waiting, a sorceress who is supplying her mistress with magical threads which bring the tapestries to life? During this episode Leon and Gwaine fight about which is better--being a generalist fighter or a specialist fighter. Leon gives Merlin advice in a roundabout way about telling Arthur about his magic. Then leon finds out about his magic.

dragon v. frea:
Frea coming back could be creepy. But if she's not dead than maybe she just can't leave the lake? that would be indeed a sad moment for Merlin. This could happen in the tapestry episode. Also, what’s the deal with Kilgarrah? Could be more important in S2

Gwarae as adopted by the Knights of Camelot, Gareth as Leon’s mini.

Evil scenes, so explain K working with Morgana, and discuss who’s working with who, and who is still alive (PROBLEM: Mordred and Morgana can’t necessarily work together, because of the Emrys thing, right? Also if Morgana has a vision of Emrys being her downfall that should happen some time. Could happen in S2)

G&G arriving will open up the floor for everyone to talk about Gwaine's past (which drives him up the wall!). To connect it back to the canon where Gawain is Arthur's nephew, we will find out over the course of this setting-the-record straight that by birth, Gwaine and Arthur are cousins through Loth. This will be news to everyone, except for maybe Geoffrey.

Plus, obviously, the tapestries are coming to life….maybe we should talk about that right now, and tailor the other things that need to happen around that!

*Unicorn tapestry set comes to life, and the Castle has a unicorn infestation, and they gore people. The tapestries overinterpret the blessings that Elaine sends with them, but I'm not sure what she could say with the unicorn tapestries.

*The Nine Worthies Tapestry comes to life to kill anyone who disagrees with Arthur. "May these nine worthies bring peace to your reign"

*Gwaine banging Elaine's lady in waiting, a sorceress who is supplying her mistress with magical threads which bring the tapestries to life.

*The Tapestries, when they come to life, are connected to the actual tapestry by a thread that must be cut by Excalibur.

*Elaine get enchanted and can't stop weaving a particularly scary tapestry--possibly there is a dragon on it. That would be bad indeed. Another chance for Leon issues.

*An attempt to destroy the tapestries with fire leads to Gwaine almost getting himself killed, and Leon freaking out.

*Leon and Gwaine fight about which is better--being a generalist fighter or a specialist fighter.

*Leon gives Merlin advice in a roundabout way about telling Arthur about his magic.

* Elaine, slowly falling under the tapestry threads’ spell, misses/cancels a date with Leon to work on tapestries.

*Gwaine bests Leon at a generalist fight. Leon, now that Gwaine is noble, feels comfortable challenging hi m to a specialist fight.

* Gwarae as adopted by the Knights of Camelot and is totally Gwaine’s sister. Gwarae and Gwaine have A Moment that is adorable.

* Merlin and Freya have a “fight” about her being stuck in the lake.

* Elaine finishes the unicorn tapestry and the unicorns come to life, possibly maiming people.

* Merlin takes this (Tapestry? Do we know it’s this yet?) debacle as a possible opportunity to tell Arthur about his magic. Leon gives Merlin advice in a roundabout way about telling Arthur about his magic, and Merlin considers.

* Merlin talks to the druid he met about spells to get Freya out.

* BA: Leon goes to do his fight with Gwaine, noticing again that Elaine is poignantly absent. He stops looking for her in the crowd because he knows she'll show up.

* Maeg: Leon beats Gwaine at his specialist fight, and Gwaine realizes that Leon is letting his guard down around Gwaine more. They go to the bar, Leon puts his foot in his mouth, and offends Gwaine (shocker!)

*Cait: A post with Merlin and Gaius, perhaps they suspect the tapestries are involved.

* BA: Leon confirms that he knows when Merlin is lying while hes talking to Gaius.

* Maeg: Gwaine sibling feels (good ones)

* BA: Leon goes to apologize to Gwaine when a wild unicorn appears and gores someone, causing freak-outery to ensue.

*Cait: Merlin and Leon and Gwaine and Arthur chase after the unicorn, and together they confirm that the unicorns have something to do with the tapestry. Hey, Merlin and Arthur make a good magic team! Except that Arthur makes some crass comment about how all magic seems to be evil to him. The Tapestry is locked up in the magic vaults.

* BA: Elaine has just finished the Nine Worthies. Arthur tells Elaine not to make any more tapestries. Leon expresses some concern that she's working too hard and she kind of gets mad at him. Leon's life is over.

* Cait: Merlin (and Gaius? Druids? Freya?) investigate the unicorn Tapestry more...maybe it was not put under an enchantment--perhaps its magical itself? This makes Merlin suspect Floree.

* Maeg: Gwaine confesses his love to Floree in a serious way that shocks everyone. Merlin suspects she is the variable in the magic threads and stuff, but Gwaine defends her adamantly because he is in lurve

*EVIL NPC SCENE: intro Morgana and her boy-toy, plus Cenred. Morgana is not worried, since the Nine Worthies will surely cause havoc in the kingdom and even if they lock up the tapestries there will be no way to stop them. Morgana may tell Floree to keep the unicorns under control until the Nine Worthies can attack too, and then Elaine will cause the downfall by making a dragon.

* BA: Leon gives Elaine some space. He offers Gareth the position of squire. Gareth begins to see in Leon the brother that he imagined Gwaine to be

* Cait: The Nine Worthies attack as Giant Evil Knights.

* Maeg: An attempt to destroy the tapestries with fire leads to Gwaine almost getting himself killed.

* BA: Leon freaks out that Gwaine almost died.

* Cait: RXN to Leon freak out, looks up ways to defeat the tapestries. WHERE ARE THE FREYA FEELS GOING IN THIS EPISODE??

*Maeg: attempts to talk to Elaine and Floree about the tapestries prove fruitless, since the doors are locked. Our knightly heroes are worried about their respective ladies.

* BA: Elaine falls completely under the threads’ spell and is making a tapestry with a dragon. Leon issues.

* Cait: Someone discovers the threads connecting the monsters to their tapestries can only be cut by Excalibur.

* Maeg: Gwaine sees Floree do something incriminating? FEELS

* QUEST TO GET EXCALIBUR: Arthur draws it from the stone. Merlin casts a magic spell on the sword to make it sharp enough to cut through this kind of delicate magi.

* Leon finds out about Merlin’s magic. Using the advice Leon told Merlin, Merlin does not try to hide it…and almost instantly regrets that decision.

*Gwaine and Co. arrive just in time to slay the dragon before it can wreak havoc, and while Arthur is snipping loose ends, one of the unicorns is about to stab Arthur in the back! Gwaine saves the prat, but it turns out the unicorn was Floree.FEELS. Not to mention Leon and Merlin FEELS and Elaine and Leon FEELS and Merlin and Freya FEELS

*An ending Friday Knights scene with Gwaine singing “Solitary Man”

* Evil scenes: who’s working with who, and who is still alive. Cenred can show up not dead. K is maybe with Morgana this entire epi, or most of it. Set up the finale.

here we go: so: I post Leon's rxn to the unicorns, and talking to Gaius about looking up what it could be. Cait posts about sneaking off to the druids to ask if they know anything about it, and ask about some Freya related spells, and think about whether he wants to tell Arthur about his magic (this could go in two posts if its too big for one). Megan covers the fact that the unicorns stop showing up for a bit (perhaps because of some ward that Gaius puts up). Then Megan and I do some short posts to cover the fight.

For Cait's post: the fact that Freya's in the picture now and that Merlin's talking to druids (who are proving to be super helpful) may make Merlin think twice bout telling his magic to Arthur. Merlin doesn't get a shit ton of sleep when he's having to sneak around trying to help Freya just because Arthur doesn't know about his doing magic, and being a little sleep deprived is bound to make anyone go off into "What if..." territory. maybe mention that it's the annoying thought that won't go away. Merlin can go talk to the druids about what the unicorns might be, ince they have been quite helpful, and on his way back Merlin can be thinking about telling Arthur, and Leon can find him and be confused why he's sneaking around at this time of night/early morning. They can then walk back to the castle with Merlin and Leon having their talk.

For later: And then Leon is chit chatting with Gaius at some point cause that's how he finds out how you can tell when Merlin is telling falsehoods!
we're also trying to establish that Leon and Merlin have this kind of older bro-younger bro thing going on, so my original thought was that Merlin, who knows what Gaius is going to say and knows what Gwaine is going to say, needs some advice from someone who he considers nonpartial and relatively wise and clear-thinking, which naturally takes him to Leon

* BA: Leon confirms that he knows when Merlin is lying while hes talking to Gaius.

Cenred is visiting Morgana but is skeptical of her power, since Morgause has still not recovered from Season 3 finale. K mentions that they seem to be on to the unicorns, and will probably find everything out soon (although he knows Merlin's been getting info from the druids about it, he doesn't mention this to Morgana). Morgana is not worried, since the Nine Worthies will surely cause havoc in the kingdom and even if they lock up the tapestries there will be no way to stop them. Morgana may tell Floree to keep the unicorns under control until the Nine Worthies can attack too, and then Elaine will cause the downfall by making a dragon.

* Cait: Merlin finds out all the threads come from Floree, and confronts Gwaine about it, who freaks. Then the Nine Worthies attack as Giant Evil Knights, cutting this happy little conversation off.

* Maeg: An attempt to destroy the tapestries with fire leads to Gwaine almost getting himself killed.

* BA: Leon freaks out that Gwaine almost died.

* Cait: RXN to Leon freak out, figures the only way to defeat magical threads is using the thing that can cut through anything...EXCALIBUR. Now, if he can only remember where he put it...

* Maeg: attempts to talk to Elaine and Floree about the tapestries prove fruitless, since the doors are locked. Our knightly heroes are worried about their respective ladies.

* BA: They break the door down (hand-carved mahogany and all). Floree is gone and Elaine has fallen completely under the threads’ spell and is making a tapestry with a dragon. Leon issues. Gwaine issues. Merlin's happy though because MAYBE he could figure out that Excalibur could also cut through the bond between Freya and the Lake?

* NPC post: QUEST TO GET EXCALIBUR: Merlin makes up some BS (or doesn't, since he does do a lot of reading) and Arthur draws it from the stone.

*Cait: Merlin takes the sword to sharpen it, frees Freya and together they cast a magic spell on the sword to make it sharp enough to cut through this kind of delicate magic.

*BA: Leon observes all. *MAGICAL REVEAL MUSIC* Using the advice Leon told Merlin, Merlin does not try to hide it…and almost instantly regrets that decision. Too bad they can't dwell on it--got to move out. And Leon just manages to get hold of himself to not say anything, though that may be the shock talking...

*Maeg: Everyone arrives back at Camelot just in time for Arthur to slay the dragon before it can wreak havoc. Leon rescues his GFF. Arthur gets knocked out by a Worthy. Gwaine takes up Excalibur and saves the prat, but it turns out he kills Floree. FEELS.

*An ending Friday Knights scene with Gwaine singing “Solitary Man,” and an uneasy truce between Merlin and Leon.

Floree is not necessarily incriminated and goes with the boys to fetch Excalibur (Merlin may or may not still suspect her), and at a crucial moment she uses magic to knock Arthur out because that's a good trope she then takes Excalibur and runs, but Merlin gets it back with expeliarmus spell or something, and she just runs. Gwaine takes up Excalibur and kills some tapestry monster knights, including Floree, which breaks the spell.
